Happy Poetry Month!

April 2014

It’s that time of year again, Shel Silverstein fans . . . Happy Poetry Month! We’re celebrating with all-new, FREE resources for Poetry Month and beyond, including:

  • The Giving Tree 50th Anniversary Event Kit, which features fun and engaging printable activities based on six Shel Silverstein classics (The Giving Tree; Where the Sidewalk Ends; Don’t Bump the Glump!; A Giraffe and a Half; Lafcadio, the Lion Who Shot Back; and Who Wants a Cheap Rhinoceros?)

  • "Teach Shel" Teaching Guide, which features Common Core-aligned discussion questions and writing prompts for use at home or in the classroom

We also have a complete collection of FREE downloadable resources from years past to help you conduct your own Poetry Month celebrations.

In addition, stay tuned to the Shel Silverstein Facebook page where the Poetry Month festivities continue all month long with shareable poems, downloadable activities, and much more. Finally, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 24—we hope you’ll carry Shel in your pocket!
